President Biden says US troops will be withdrawn from Iraq

President Joe Biden says US troops will be withdrawn from Iraq by the end of this year.

That was after a meeting between Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and US President Joe Biden at the White House.

The United States currently has about 2,500 troops in Iraq.

The main purpose of US troops staying in the country was to train and advise Iraqi government forces as well as to fight ISIS militants.

A US drone strike last year in Baghdad, Iraq, has led to the assassination of former Iranian military leader Qasem Soleimani.

 

China imposes sanctions on several US officials and organizations

 

China has imposed sanctions on several individuals and organizations in the United States.

According to foreign media reports, China has imposed sanctions on Hong Kong in response to recent US sanctions.

It includes seven people, including former US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

The sanctions were imposed just days before US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman's visit to China.

It is reported that the Deputy Secretary of State is scheduled to visit China to resolve the deteriorating relations with China.

The United States has warned its business community in Hong Kong of its actions in China, foreign media reported.
