Afghan forces bomb Taliban hideouts

Afghan forces have bombed Taliban hideouts. Foreign media reported that the bombings were carried out to prevent militants from capturing major cities.

Taliban militants have reportedly entered the cities of Herat, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Kandahar and are roaming the streets of the cities. However, Afghan army commandos have been deployed to the cities, foreign media reported.

Three rockets were fired at the Kandahar airport in Afghanistan last night. Due to this the operations of the airport were temporarily suspended. Airport officials said two-thirds of the rockets hit the runway.

Meanwhile, Afghan forces launched airstrikes on a secret base where Taliban insurgents were staying. At least 10 terrorists were killed in an attack on a secret base in Kandahar. The Afghan government says about 250 Taliban insurgents have been killed in military operations in the past 24 hours.
