06 killed in wildfires in Turkey

Many foreign tourists have been evacuated from fire-prone resorts in Turkey.

Authorities say a large number of people have been evacuated from coastal resorts and homes in southwestern Turkey.

Six people have been killed in wildfires since last Wednesday. A large number of others are severely affected.

 

Corona infections on the rise globally

The organization warns in a Twitter message that the spread of the Delta Corona variant has led to increased social mixing, circulation, as well as inequality in vaccination.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in a statement that this would put the health sector at risk.

 

Lamont Jacobs of Italy wins Olympic 100m gold medal

Marcell Lamont Jacobs of Italy was crowned the fastest athlete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics today.

He won the gold medal in the men's 100m.

The final of the men's 100m event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games was held this evening (01).

Marcel Lamont Jacobs of Italy won the gold medal in the 100 meters with a time of 9.80 seconds.

Fred Curley of the United States won the silver medal

The bronze medal was won by Onde de Gross of Canada.
