Indian health authorities warn of new Covid-19 strain
Indian health authorities have issued a warning about a new
variant of Covid-19 called Delta Plus.
They point out that this new strain may be more severe than
the first Delta strain identified in India, and that complications are high.
The Covid-19 epidemic, which began in Wuhan, China, and then
spread to Nanjing, has now spread to Beijing and five other provinces. Chinese
authorities say this is the worst virus outbreak since the Wuhan outbreak. More
than 200 people have been identified since the first cases were reported at
Nanjing Airport on July 20, according to foreign media reports. Due to this situation,
all flights at Nanjing Airport have been suspended until August 11.
The New York Times reported today that the spread of the
Delta variety is similar to the spread of chickenpox. It cites an internal
document from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The report
states that the Delta variety is strong enough to withstand even vaccination.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has decided to provide $
100 to encourage people who have not received the Covid-19 vaccine to be
vaccinated. Foreign media reported that all public servants who had not been
vaccinated were given PCR once a week or twice a week. An investigation has
also been made mandatory.
