A recent study in Italy found that eating ripe chilies reduced the risk of dying from heart disease and stroke.
About 23,000 people were used in the study, and their eating habits were monitored for eight years.
Researchers also found that eating ripe chili at least four times a week reduced the risk of dying from heart disease and stroke by about 40%.
